Casa de Moda brings heritage home...

Kudos to the amazing Carla Fernandez, a Mexico City based designer who collaborates with local master artisans to transform traditional techniques and designs into wearable fashion. This couturier honors indigenous craft and craftspeople in ways that support social change. Her vision is to painstakingly produce precious items meant to be cherished over time. Her latest show Carla Fernandez Casa de Moda: A Mexican Fashion Manifesto, was exhibited at Denver Art Museum's textile and fashion galleries this summer. Fernandez says "This exhibition is an homage to all the people who made the clothing and to the complexity of fashion." Read more about her in MLPEAK.COM Summer 2022, Fashion is Not Ephemeral.

This is rich cultural heritage, re-presented and revered, enriching life with every stitch.
