COLLECTIONS

Source materials for these couture collections are culled from American vintage and thrift, which has been supplied by every nationality living in the U.S. Other limited fabrics, trims and accessories are sourced from around the world. Representation and use of global artistic heritages are especially prominent in my work, as they are imbued with the rich craft and culture of ancient peoples. I seek to honor these histories, and connect to their beauty.
In the development of original designs and where something new is necessary to finish a garment's transformation, materials and practices employed with integrity are paramount.
Embellishment and ornamentation are incorporated not only to elevate the beauty of a garment and its wearer, but as talisman, amulet and icon to invoke spirit, ancient lore, nature, healing, protection, love, and strength - just as our ancestors have done throughout all of time when they dressed and decorated their bodies, their faces and their hair to express personal and communal histories.
And for those who are actively engaged in making new life, this is design which honors and celebrates the body, its transformations, its creative processes. It seeks to recognize and give glory to the power of birth and rebirth; it is to provide symbolic and material respect and distinction to a woman during a period of heightened physical, sexual, and spiritual power.
