Birth-day

Updated: Jul 13, 2023

Today, on my mother's birthday, the dress designs that I am debuting at Athens Fashion Week have received their final stitches; I carry them back with me to the country where she was born and loved so much: it is fitting that I begin there, where the smell of the sea and the gardenias growing wild in the gardens remind me of her and her beloved, laughing and walking and talking, all dressed up in their finest clothes.

She was most beautiful and happy in Greece. I treasure all the time we spent there...I can still feel the magic pulsing in the pink smudges of its rising sun; a place where what has been lost can be reborn - growing big and bountiful in the light of her sumptuous soul.
