On Time, and Connection
Time is the vehicle through which Truth Spirit and Wisdom show up as Beauty and Power. The way we make and remake meaning is to cultivate a consciousness about and connection to everything in our lives.
Our clothing has the ability to articulate our inner selves through a visual language anchored by physical connection to that which originally came from the earth. All creative life, everything we can imagine, all that we can build, fix or innovate, must come from that perhaps uncomfortable nexus between what is and what can be.
This is an expression of consciousness and craft that we must revisit, to herald a necessary Renaissance - right now, hand-made, and rich with the life of our stories soaked into every fibre of it.

www.desertflowerfoundation.org - founded in 2002 by Waris Dirie, human rights activist, actor, and super model, to fight against the practice of FGM and to establish economic, medical and educational projects in support of its mission. In her biography Desert Flower, Ms. Dirie states: "My mother named me after a miracle of nature: Waris means desert flower. The desert flower blooms in a barren environment where few living things can survive...(b)ut finally the water pours down, cleansing the dusty landscape, and then like a miracle the blooms appear." p.35
